About Wifiee

Wifiee is a small collection of network and WiFi tools that run entirely in your browser.

What it does

Wifiee offers four tools across two categories. The network tools plan IPv4 subnets and convert between CIDR and subnet mask notation. The WiFi tools generate QR codes for joining a network and list every WiFi channel and its centre frequency for the 2.4, 5 and 6 GHz bands. All of it runs without installing software and without sending your inputs to a server.

Why browser-first?

Many online network tools send your inputs to a server, run the math there, and send the result back. That means the server sees your SSID and password, or your internal IP plan. Wifiee takes a different approach: the math happens on your own device, in your browser tab. The inputs never leave your computer.

This is better for privacy, faster for typical inputs, and works without a registration.

How it works

Each tool uses JavaScript that runs in the browser. Subnet math is pure arithmetic on 32-bit integers. CIDR conversion reuses the same math. The WiFi QR generator uses the uqr library to draw the QR matrix as an SVG. The channel reference is a static table built into the page. No backend server is involved.

Open source

The tools are built on open-source libraries with permissive licences (MIT). The project itself is built with Nuxt, Vue and TypeScript.

Limitations

The current tools cover IPv4 only; IPv6 is on the roadmap. The tools do not perform live network requests: there is no DNS lookup, no port scan, no SSL check. Those tools require a server and would have to handle privacy differently. Wifiee R1 sticks to tools that can run with no network access at all.
